With the continuing dry it has made it difficult for most producers to maintain a female herd of any size.

After discussion with several beef producers we have decided to offer a feeding and breeding service for Shorthorn and Shorthorn cross heifers.

Futurity breeding and feeding service - How it works

Producers send heifers to us and we will feed them for 60 - 70 days on a feedlot ration. They will be programmed for Artificial Insemination and joined to high quality low birth weight bulls.

Towards the end of the feeding period heifers will be pregnancy tested and the empties can then be marketed to slaughter or feedlot markets depending on their condition score. The pregnant heifers would be returned to the owner.

2019 Bull Sale Report

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to those who supported our sale this year.

To our repeat buyers who have supported us for many years and are also facing challenging seasonal conditions we applaud your commitment to your breeding program.

At the fall of the hammer the Top price bull LOT 28 Futurity Prophecy sold for $22,000 to Outback Shorthorns and Glengyron Shorthorns. The sale averaged $7700 with an 80% clearance.

A large percentage of the bulls headed interstate with 9 bulls to Queensland, 9 Bulls to Tasmania and 4 to South Australia

Bulls selling to studs includes LOT 9 to Marrington Shorthorns, Dubbo for $18000, LOT 21 to Tallangalook Shorthorns, Atheton Tablelands, Qld for $12000, LOT 12 & 17 to Royston Shorthorns, Tasmaina and LOT 25 to Cloverdale Shorthorns, Gladstone.
